Margaret "Peggy"
Ferguson
d. Jul 13, 2026
Lakewood
Margaret “Peggy” Elizabeth Ferguson, 94, recently of Lakewood, Colorado, and formerly of Hernando, Florida, passed away on July 13, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She lived a long and full life marked by kindness, humor, strength, and a deep love for the people around her.
Born in 1931, in Cranleigh, Surrey, England, Margaret was the daughter of Ruth and Oliver “Robbie” Robertson. When she was 14 she, her parents and two of her four siblings left England and sailed by ship to eastern Canada, crossing the country to plant roots in Victoria British Columbia on Vancouver Island where she graduated from Victoria High School.
She stayed in Canada until she met Charles “Chuck” Ferguson who was stationed at Fairbanks AK with the Air Force. They married in 1952 and moved to the Boston area where they started their family and 69-year marriage together.
Margaret spent much of her life raising her family, traveling with Chuck around the world, and creating a welcoming home. She will be remembered for her kindness, her avid love of reading, her love of animals and nature, her African violets, her Hummel collection, and a mean game of cards that always included lots of laughter and love. She and Chuck often hosted parties, and they were loved by not only their friends and families but also the friends and families of their children.
Margaret loved nothing more than spending time with her family and Chuck's family, and especially cherished her time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children Michael (Patti), Brian (Debbie) and Kathie, grandchildren Colin Ferguson, Connor Ferguson (Marina), Ian Ferguson, and Celia Ferguson, and great-grandchildren Eva Ferguson, Charlie Ferguson and Liam Ferguson, her sister Jean May, and dozens of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings Gladys Ferris, Evelyn Esparza and Roy Robertson.
A service to celebrate Margaret will be held on July 19th at 12:30 PM in Lakewood CO. Another service will be held on Cape Cod and burial will occur in Woodside Cemetery in Yarmouth Port MA where she will be reunited with her dear husband. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life that meant so much to so many.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund.
The family is grateful for the love, support, and many kind memories shared during this time. She was deeply loved, and she will be missed more than words can say.
