Margaret was born in Columbia, Nebraska to Leo Sr. and Rose Moschenross. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Leo A. Jr. She is survived by her sister Rose Marie Wilds, sister-in-law, Elaine Moschenross; nephews Brian Wilds, Dennis Jr. Wilds, and Dan Moschenross; nieces Theresa Ryley and Nancy Bergstrom-Swanson; as well as many great-nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind countless students whom she loved as family.
At the age of two, Margaret's family moved to Omaha, Nebraska, and later returned to Columbus. At the age f 13, she joined the Franciscan order of nuns in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she took the name Sister M. Bonaventure.
Margaret pursued her education passionately, attending the University of New Mexico, the University of Notre Dame, the University of Peru, and the University of Colorado. Her teaching career began in Zuni, New Mexico, but she spent the majority of her life as a nun, teaching in Denver, Colorado.
In 1983, she left the convent and returned to lay life as Margaret Moschenross. She worked in accounting and homeschooled schildren from her home. Eventually, an unexpected call reignited her passion for teaching, and she returned to the classroom. Her students affectionately called her "Mrs. M" because her last name was difficult to pronounce.
Later in life, she retired from teaching, feeling it was time to slow down. However, she remained in contact with many former students who continued to cherish her guidance and care. A few years ago, she moved to Clermont Park 24, where she found happiness and made many new friends.
Maragret's love for children was evident throughout her life. Even at family gatherings, she naturally gravitated toward spending time with young ones, often choosing their company over adults. We are certain she is in heaven now, happily surrounded by children and continuing to share her love for teaching.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to organizations that provide meals for homeless - something Margaret would have deeply appreciated.
