Margaret died on May 20, 2026 at AdventHealth Parker Hospital in Parker, CO. She was born Sep 6, 1956 in Las Animas, CO to Gene and Cleo Kenyon.

Margaret married Robert Mestas Jr on Dec 2, 1975. She was a 1975 graduate of Las Animas High School, Las Animas Colorado. She received her Associate of Arts Degree in 1980 in Salinas, California.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Mestas Jr of Parker and two sisters, Patti (Ken) Quaney of Colorado Springs and Juanita Alvarez (Nick) of Las Animas, and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased family members include brothers Paul Trujillo and Anthony Kenyon, and sisters Marcy Saldana and Lucy Lucero.

Margaret was loved and appreciated by all who knew her. She was an unselfish, caring, loving person who always put others before herself despite her many chronic illnesses.

Family and friends always came first and were her priority. She loved the many little pets she had over the years. She regarded them as her kids. Her life was a portrait of love. There was not an evil or selfish bone in her body. Lived the Christian life and abhorred injustice, especially by our current corrupt political leaders.

Interment services will take place at Fort Lyon, Colorado, followed by a reception to be held at the VFW Post 2411 in Las Animas, Colorado. Details will be provided in the near future.
