Manuel R. Montaño died peacefully at home on September 1, 2021.
He was born in Durango, Colorado on August 18, 1950 to Joe Montaño and Grace Gallegos. Manuel was an Air Force Vietnam Veteran with boots on the ground in Da Nang, Vietnam. In 1994 he retired from Lowry Air Force Base after 25 years of service. He loved his Harley, late night coffee joints, and the Denver Broncos.
Manuel is proceeded in death by his parents Joe Montaño and Grace Gallegos, his sister Veronica Martinez, and nephew Gabriel Montaño.
Left to remember and honor are his siblings Joe (Colleen), Richard (LeeAnn), Ronald (Lourdes), and Margaret, along with numerous nephews and nieces. So too stepfather David Kelsey and sister Shannon Renner.
A special note of appreciation to The Denver Hospice, who through extraordinary guidance, assisted the family in a peaceful transition.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 for 4PM to 6PM. The Vigil service will begin at 6pm at Horan & McConaty. The Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 10am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery to follow at 1:15pm.
