Manuel Flores, affectionately known as "Manny," passed away peacefully at the age of 71 on June 11, 2025. Born and raised in San Juan (Río Piedras), Puerto Rico, Manuel's life journey took him from the vibrant streets of the island to Florida and eventually Colorado, where he built a full life surrounded by loved ones.

At the age of 19, Manuel proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country with honor for six years. Following his military service, he began a dedicated career with the Federal Government, where he worked until his well-earned retirement.

Manuel had a passion for life’s simple joys: bowling, camping, and discovering new places through travel. But above all, he treasured time with his family. As a devoted father and grandfather, he rarely missed a school recital, a sports game, or a special moment. Even when his health no longer allowed him to leave home, his unwavering support remained constant.

Known for his warm presence and ability to truly listen, Manuel had a gift for making people feel seen and heard. He brought kindness, steadiness, and deep love into every room he entered.

Manuel is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Esther Flores; his brother, Ismael Ramirez; his sister, Fiordalinda Bilbo (and her husband, Brian); and his beloved grandson, Luis A. Rodriguez.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughters, Yvonne (Paul) and Luisa Flores; his stepdaughter, Tracy O’Connell (Donnie); and his cherished grandchildren: David Rodriguez, David Martinez Ramirez, Adrian and Nayeli Ramirez, Merae Johnson, and Braeden and Raegan O’Connell. Sister Vivian Flores (Kevin Cross), Edgar Flores, Nydia Soto. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 10th at 1:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd.). Shelter service with military honors will follow at 2:30 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery. We will meet at Staging Area "B". There is a map posted below.

Manuel’s legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
