Malcolm Lafayette Johnson, 82, of Arvada passed away on December 10, 2021 at Lutheran Medical Center. Born on December 7, 1939 in Texas he was the son of Chester Elmer and Thelma Eunice (Osbourne) Johnson. Malcolm married Helen Reid on 8-5-1961 and together they shared 60 years of marriage.
Malcolm had a passion for sales and business and operated a successful coffee business beginning with Coffee Break Service, an office coffee service which grew into Guest Room Coffee, which serviced hotels. It was often said that he could sell ice to an Eskimo. Malcolm also had a love for travel. He would go to a trade show for his business and make it a family vacation. It could also be said of him that he would take a yardstick and a roadmap and if it reached he thought we could drive it in a day. Malcolm was very driven and a great man of perseverance and grit.
Malcolm is survived by his children, Malcolm Lee & wife Marilyn Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Marty & wife Sarah Johnson, and Dawn & husband Jeff Reid. Grandchildren Derek, Marcus & wife Carrie, Nathan, Tyler, and Lucas Johnson, Alexis, Brandon, Hannah and Heath Reid. Brother, Truman Johnson, Sisters Martha Honnol, and Edna Fortman.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Johnson, Mother and Father Chester and Thelma Johnson, Brother James Johnson, and sister Sue Willis.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11:00am with a visitation starting at 10:00am at First Southern Baptist Church of Westminster, 7990 Lowell Blvd. Westminster, CO 80030.
