Magdalen C. Mauldin

Magdalen Chavez Mauldin, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024 in Littleton, Colorado, with her loving children by her side. She was born in Magdalena, NM on December 13, 1930 and raised in Albuquerque. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1949 and married her high school sweetheart, Arthur Mauldin on May 13, 1949. They were married 71 years. Magdalen and Arthur relocated to Littleton in 1976 where she lived the rest of her life.

In addition to being a homemaker, Magdalen kept active by singing with various music groups and painting landscapes.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Mauldin; and son, Gary Mauldin; parents, José and Lucy Chavez and siblings, Marcella, Joe, Nita, and Nestor.

She had 7 children: Jeffrey Mauldin, Andrea Mauldin-Garduño (Ray), Stephen Mauldin (Candy), Kevin Mauldin (Debbie), Brian Mauldin, and Mark Mauldin; 17 grandchildren: Melissa Metzger, Kimberly Conner, Eric Mauldin, Ashley Mauldin, Matthew Martinez, Carla Carroll, Rebecca Martinez, Tara Veretto, Audrey Locker, Stevie Mauldin, Alex Mauldin, Kevin J. Mauldin, Arthur J. Mauldin, Andy Mauldin, Karl Mauldin, Penny Mauldin, and Maxwell Mauldin. Magdalen also has 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She left a legacy of 44.

Magdalen’s Celebration of Life will begin with a public viewing at 5:30pm, Rosary on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 6:00pm at Horan & McConaty Funeral Services at 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227. Mass will be on Thursday, October 3, 2024, will begin at 12:30pm at Holy Name Catholic Church, 3290 W. Milan Ave, Sheridan, CO 80110. Magdalen will be laid to rest after Mass at 2:00pm at Littleton Cemetery, 6155 South Prince Street, Littleton, CO 80120. A Reception will follow the burial at 3:00pm in the Holy Name parish hall.
