Madelyn Kay Henetz

April 19, 1942 — November 17, 2014

Madelyn passed away November 17, 2014. She is survived by her sisters Verona Buffatt (Pocatello, Idaho) and Paula Brittain (Ojai, California); nephews Mike Nicholas and Andy Nicholas; nieces Lisa Russell and Holly Henetz-Russo; and her beloved cat and companion of 14 years, Bijou. She was a long time Denver resident living in Capitol Hill area for over fifty years. Madelyn is a former employee of the Clerk's Office, U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. She was, from 1970-1995, the Deputy Clerk/Manager of the Criminal Division for the Court and responsible for all Criminal matters in the Clerk's Office. In 1995 she was assigned to Chief Judge Matsch as Administrative Manager/Special Projects to assist the Judge and the Clerk of the Court in the overall management of the cases of USA v. McVeigh and Nichols (Oklahoma City Bombing cases). After retiring from the U.S. Courts, Madelyn worked for 14 years for Investigative Resources and their owner Mr. Tony DiVirgilio and his team of investigators. Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Thursday, December 4th, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm at the Crawford Hotel at Union Station, 1701 Wynkoop Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Denver Dumb Friends League, 2080 S. Quebec Street, Denver, CO 80231 or The Denver Hospice, 501 S. Cherry St. Suite #700, Denver, CO 80246.
