Lyle Roosevelt Jackson, age 102, passed away in Northglenn Heights Assisted Living Center on November 9, 2021. He served in WWII as a Staff Sergeant with the 1252nd Army Air Force Base Unit.
Lyle worked for the Department of Energy as a Quality Assurance Specialist for the Rocky Flats Plant from July 21, 1958 to January 21, 1966 and then from April 12, 1970 to July 31, 1985. During his time at Rocky Flats, he made precision parts for the atomic bomb and worked on the ignitor of the Space Shuttle Challenger XV. When he retired, he researched the ancestry of his and his wife’s family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Elizabeth Miller; his parents Bert Martin Jackson, Mary Rebecka Jackson; two brothers Mirwyn Floyd Jackson, Keith Benjamin Jackson, and his sister Junelaine Mae Moore. It is presumed that he is survived by his son, Steven Josef Jackson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Services to honor Lyle will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 11:00AM at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel in Thornton, CO. He will be laid to rest that afternoon at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO.
