Lowell Eugene (Gene) Richardson, age 74, died suddenly at the Colorado State Veterans Living Center on October 12, 2022. He was a graduate of Alameda High School. Gene was drafted into the Army at age 20 and spent time at Ft. Bliss, Texas, Ft. Ord, California, and finally Ft. Carson in Colorado. In March 1969 he was deployed to Viet Nam in the Army artillery division and operated a “duster.” He returned home in March 1970 and married Pat Shea the following August.
Gene worked for Rolled & Fabricated Metal Products for several years before gaining employment with Mobile-Premix Concrete as a diesel mechanic. He worked there until his retirement in 2008.
He enjoyed working with wood making bug boxes, wind chimes, garden art and numerous other items. He liked attending car races, bowling, and seemed to enjoy helping others whenever opportunities presented. He is survived by his wife, Pat, and their three children: David (Sabrina) of Lakewood, Tammy (Douglas) of Berthoud, and Tracy of Lakewood. He is also survived by his three siblings: LoAnne, Melvin Leroy (Carolyn) and Donna as well as four grandchildren: Ashton, Zachary, Lynnea and Levi. Gene also had many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will take place at Victory Baptist Church, 1305 South Dale Court, Denver, CO on Tuesday, November 1 at 11:00 am with a viewing one hour before the funeral service.
