Louise A. Meck

Louise Annette (Murphy) Meck, age 75, passed away on August 21, 2026 in Littleton, Colorado. She was born on December 26, 1950, in Wabash, Indiana. Louise was the daughter of Nordan Calvin Murphy, a Methodist minister, and Donna Louise DeHoff, a schoolteacher. She was the middle child, with an older brother, Michael, who preceded her in death, and a younger brother, Mark.

As a young teenager, Louise moved with her family to Ridgewood, New Jersey, where she attended Ridgewood High School. She loved to play the oboe and excelled in it.

She later married her sweetheart, Stanley Meck, whom she first met while in high school in Ridgewood. Louise and Stan were married on June 30, 1973, in a ceremony performed by her father. Louise graduated from Upsala College with a degree in sociology and elementary education and worked for a time as a schoolteacher.

Louise and Stan had three children: Jason Murphy Meck, Damon Christopher Meck, and Alicia Louise Meck. She devoted herself to caring for and supporting her family.

Louise and Stan lived in Odessa, Texas; Littleton, Colorado; and Hobbs, New Mexico, before returning to Littleton. In Colorado, Louise and Stan joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and their family was later sealed in the Denver Temple. She served in many volunteer assignments in the church for over 40 years. She loved ministering to others and helping them feel God’s love.

Louise was the grandmother of 14 grandchildren and recently became a great-grandmother. She enjoyed time with her family, walking and riding bikes, yard work, and tending to her garden and plants.

Louise is survived by her husband, Stan, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage; her brother, Mark, and his wife, Angela; her children and their spouses, Jason, Damon and Ronalin, and Alicia and Mat; her 14 grandchildren; 4 grandchildren-in-law; and her great-granddaughter. Her hope for each of them was that they would build their faith in Jesus Christ, study His words regularly, never stop learning, always be about doing good, and laugh often along the way.

In retirement, Louise and Stan served their community through Nourish Meals on Wheels in Littleton, delivering meals and helping care for the people they visited within their community. Louise saw this service as part of her mission to care for God’s children, and she never hesitated to do good. Stan will continue with this mission with Louise watching over him as he does. Her legacy of faith, love, service, learning, and laughter will continue to bless all who knew her.
