Louis Albert Hofing, age 74, died from cancer at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Friday, March 17, 2023.
Born on May 27, 1948 in Harve de Grace, Maryland. He lived in Colorado most of his life and worked in customer service and sales in the communications industry until retiring in 2008.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Hofing, daughters Michelle Meyer, Pam Sonka (Mike) and Jennifer Holt (Brian). He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Stephani Sonka, Meghan Meyer, Shawn Sonka, Jared Meyer, Rylee Holt, and LB Holt. Also by his four siblings, Sandra Smith (Tony) of Colorado, Bill Hofing (Clem) of California, Sue Harrison (Greg) of California, and Annette Shaw (Bill) of Nevada and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Hofing (Thelma) and Annette Acosta (Sergio).
Louie enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed camping and fishing in the Colorado Mountains. Loved to travel, especially road trips to various states, honing his skills at the slot machines, and watching those beautiful Florida sunsets.
Louie was known as a man of kindness and thoughtfulness. He had the biggest heart and was a true friend to everyone.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Horan and McConaty Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave. in Aurora, CO 80014. Rosary starts at 11:00 am followed by a Catholic Mass. At the conclusion of Mass, Interment will follow at Saint Simeon Catholic Cemetery, 22001 E. Highway 30 in Aurora, CO. 80018. Reception details to be announced once finalized.
