Lorraine George

January 14, 1953 — June 7, 2026

Littleton, CO

Lorraine Louise George, 73, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away on June 7, 2026, after a courageous battle with chronic health issues. Born on January 14, 1953, in Los Angeles, California, Lorraine lived a life defined by her generous spirit, her fierce devotion to family, and her unwavering determination to care for others.

Lorraine graduated from South High School in Denver, where she built the foundation for a life rooted in hard work and compassion. She went on to earn her CNA license and devoted much of her career to the healthcare industry, finding her true calling as a caregiver. It was while working at a 7UP bottling company that she met the love of her life, Clyde George. The two married on June 3, 1978, and built a life together filled with love, laughter, and family.

A proud mother of three and a doting grandmother, Lorraine always put her family first. She was also a courageous cancer survivor whose strength and resilience inspired everyone around her. Following her victory over that illness, she transitioned to part-time retail work, where her warmth and exceptional customer service skills endeared her to colleagues and customers alike. Lorraine worked right up until the day she passed, driven by her desire to provide for those she loved.

Lorraine possessed a generous heart that expressed itself in countless ways, from her love of shopping for the perfect gift to her memorable, if occasionally ambitious, adventures in cake making. She was an avid traveler who journeyed to places such as Italy and Australia, and she loved capturing life's moments through photography. After the heartbreaking loss of her eldest daughter, Kelli K. George, Lorraine poured her love into maintaining an angel website in her memory. Those who knew her well understood that "Mom" or "Nonni" was all warmth and comfort, a spirited woman who could speak her mind with fiery conviction yet provide the kind of tender solace that only a mother can offer.

Lorraine is survived by her beloved husband, Clyde George; her son, Clyde George Jr.; her daughter, Kari Vettraino; and her cherished grandchildren, Alessandra Vettraino, Gavin Vettraino and Faith George. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelli K. George.

A memorial service will be held on July 10, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the gardens at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Denver, CO 80014. A reception will follow at a location to be determined.

May she rest in God's gentle care, walking beside those she loved. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear."
