Loretta G. Brisnehan Dunlap, 91, of Centennial, passed away at home on April 1, 2026.Loretta was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 50 years, Bob, and their loving daughter, Patty. She was also preceded in death by her parents Charles and Eunice and siblings Alice Brachle, Mary Coursey, Ray, and Jim.
Loretta is the mother of Cathy, Mike, Susan, Patty, Teresa, Sharon (Enrique H.), Maureen, (Joe Hollmann), and Jeanine; grandmother of Rachel (Justin Gragert), Megan, Autumn, Byron (Grace), Amanda (Omar), Angela, and Gisell; great grandmother of Jackson, Natalie, Cal, Ziya, and Kayde; She was an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews as well as Godmother and spiritual advisor to many.
Loretta was born in Denver, attending Holy Family Grade School and High School. After getting married, she and Bob moved to California for 11 years before returning to Colorado to be closer to family while raising their children.
Loretta was a gifted crafter, sharing her cross stitch artwork with her many friends, creating her own greeting cards featuring her calligraphy, and even working with stained glass.
She and Bob were deeply involved with youth ministry through Teens Encounter Christ as well as prison ministry helping federal inmates, offering hope and God’s love through their work. They aided the homeless, worked with the sight impaired, served at food banks, and were actively involved in the church as a Eucharistic ministers serving the homebound, and with the funeral ministry.
Loretta loved children, reading, word puzzles, traveling, sports, laughing, and being around people every chance she could get. Her gentle kindness remains with us through her many years of dedicated acts of service. She found great joy in motherhood and her many friendships.
Memorial Rosary to be held Friday, May 8, 2026 at 7:00 pm and Memorial Mass to be held Saturday, May 9, 2026 at noon, both at All Souls Catholic Church, 4950 South Logan St., Englewood, CO 80113.
