Loren Eugene Shuler, 80, of Keenesburg, Colorado, passed away March 26, 2014. He was born June 21, 1933 in Liberal, Kansas to Anthony Leland and Grace Elinor Harness Shuler. He is a veteran of the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Loren attended the University of Colorado. He earned a BS Science in Chemistry and BS in Statistics and Mathematics from Metropolitan State University, with an Associate Degree in Anthropology. Attending the University of Northern Colorado he earned his BSBA and MSMA. Loren was a member of the Church of The Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the many years he attended the Boulder, the Arvada, and the Brighton Wards. He married Sally Martinez in October of 1973. Loren was a loving husband and a father to his children and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was genealogy enthusiast. Loren and his wife worked and spent years working at the Genealogy Library in Arvada and in Brighton. Loren had many hobbies. He loved the technology of electronic devices. He loved computer technology and spent many hours working and researching his family background and genealogy. He enjoyed gardening. Let us not forget his sweet tooth. Loren loved to bake desserts. He had many favorites, but, at the top of his list was Key Lime Pie and Divinity. Over the years, Loren and Sally were very outdoorsman and adventurous. Together they loved hiking, rock climbing, skiing, tennis, canoeing, and traveling. Loren is survived by his beloved wife, Sally A. Shuler; children, Cindy (Tim Duffy) Shuler ; Russell (Anita) Shuler; and Heather Hill; seventeen grandchildren; Siblings, Leo (Sylvia) Shuler, Russell (Sandy) Shuler; Marilyn Alexander. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sister and brother-in-law, Cleo and Odess McNeme; and brother-in-law, Glenn Alexander. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1454 Myrtle Street, Brighton, Colorado 80601. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Lunch at 12:00 p.m. A Funeral Procession will follow the luncheon to his burial place at Crown Hill Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Ave., Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033. The graveside service is scheduled for approximately 2:00pm.
