Her family gives thanks for God's gift of the earthly life of Lora Belle Johnson confident of her passage to peace and eternal life with Him on July 9, 2015. Lora was born the second daughter of Freeman Hadley and Martha Ellen Dawson Payne on July 21, 1931 near Russellville, MO. Her family moved to Wichita, KS when she was a young girl. In time she met and married Douglas Clay Johnson. They moved from Wichita, KS to Denver, CO and later to Cimarron, NM. He preceded her in death after 56 years together. Lora is survived by their daughter Karlae Kae Lutzka; their grandson Christopher Lee Lutzka and his wife Layne; and great-grandson, Clay Douglas. Also surviving are sisters Marie Avonell Miles and Mary Clare (Allen) Goodwin; three nieces and one nephew. She was a loving spirit who also always knew her mind. Her physical presence and the ways of Lora Johnson will be missed by all who loved her so dearly, but her influence and tender care of us remain. Lora was a savvy business woman from a young age working as a corporate manager and later operating her own businesses in Cimarron. Services will be held at a later date in Wichita, KS where she will be laid to rest with her husband Doug. Because of her love of animals, a memorial in her name has been established with Denver Dumb Friends League, 2080 S Quebec St, Denver, CO 80231.
