LOIS EVELYN GRAY
May 2, 1931 – July 2, 2025
Lois Evelyn Marriott was born on May 2nd, 1931, and lived on a farm in Missouri during her early years. Later, as a teenager, her family moved to Riverton, Wyoming, where she worked as a cashier at the same grocery store as her father. The family then moved to Loveland, Colorado, where she met Logan Gray, her husband of 72 years.
Logan and Lois married on July 4, 1948, and lived in a little house that Logan helped to build behind his parents’ house in Loveland. They had a son, Gary, who was born in Fort Collins since there was no hospital in Loveland at that time. Three years later, on March 30, 1952, Cindy was born in the new Loveland Hospital.
Lois and Logan moved to the Thayer Farm in Fort Collins, where Logan had a job as a farmhand. Later, Logan hired on with United Airlines, and the family moved to Redwood City and then Sunnyvale, California, where Kathy was born on June 22, 1956. Logan earned enough seniority to transfer back to Colorado, where they bought a home in Aurora.
Lois went to work in Food Services, as a cook, for the Aurora School District to help out Logan’s parents financially, and worked her way up to Supervisor and Nutritionist of Food Services at all the schools in the Aurora School District, where she eventually retired. Throughout the years, she helped her many siblings through difficult times because family is everything to her.
Logan and Lois were able to travel extensively and made great friends and formed beautiful memories during their travels, which they treasured immensely.
At age 94, she was the sole survivor of her seven siblings. She is survived by daughters Cindy (husband Oscar)and Kathy; grandchildren Chris (husband Mark), Michelle, Zachery (wife Jenny), Nola (husband Erik), Jenny (husband Bret), and Ladaryn (husband Mike); great-grandchildren Paige, Jamie, Claire, Logan, Bridget, Truman, Owen, Madeline, Keira, Lanie, and Dylan.
