Lois Ellen Brockmeier, 82, of Lone Tree, Colorado, passed away September 25, 2014. Lois was born June 6, 1932 in Granite City, Illinois to Wallace Clayton Arthur Johnson and Lillian Mary Geil Johnson. Lois was raised in Granite City, Illinois and attended the University of Illinois in Champaign. She met her husband Ed at the University and they were married shortly after graduation on February 15, 1956. Lois spent 8 years teaching English before taking a career break to raise her family. She resumed teaching 8th grade English in Broomfield, Colorado in the 1980s and 1990s. Lois enjoyed camping, fishing, crafts, playing bridge and most of all Christmas time. Lois is survived by her husband, Edward Louis Brockmeier; two sons, Karl Brockmeier (wife, Sandra Brockmeier), and Mark Brockmeier (wife, Dr. Kathleen Silva); two grandsons, Karl and Eric Brockmeier; and her sister, Carol Cathey (husband, Thomas). A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, from 5:00-7:00pm, at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 5303 E. County Line Road (Just West of Holly), Centennial, CO 80122. A Funeral service for Lois will be held on Thursday, October 2, 10:00am, also at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 5303 E. County Line Road. A visitation will begin at 9:00am. Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd., Denver on Thursday, October 2, 2014, 1:15pm, in area ""C"".
