Linda J. Lucero, beloved sister and aunt, passed away from natural causes on September 8, 2025, in Denver, Colorado. She was born on April 7, 1949, in Denver to the late Phillip and Mary (Casias) Lucero.
Linda grew up on Denver’s East Side and attended Annunciation Grade School before graduating from Annunciation High School in 1967. After graduation, she began her career with Kroger Foods/King Soopers, where she worked as a cashier for many years before retiring. Along the way, she also held several other jobs, always bringing her dedication and warm spirit wherever she worked.
Raised from infancy by her maternal grandmother, Clara Mendez, Linda was deeply devoted to her and cherished her with all her heart. Throughout her life, Linda carried forward the love and values instilled by her grandmother.
Linda had a zest for life and especially enjoyed traveling with her best friend and companion, Mary Quinones, with whom she shared countless memories until Mary’s passing. She also loved spending time with her family at picnics, gatherings, and special occasions.
Family was central to Linda’s life. She was one of eight siblings and surrounded by a large, loving extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Linda expressed her affection and pride through thoughtful gifts, always bringing comfort, joy, and happiness to others. She will be remembered as one of the most generous people anyone ever knew.
Linda also treasured her friendships. She kept in close contact with schoolmates and many other acquaintances, nurturing bonds that lasted a lifetime.
She is survived by her siblings: Pearl (Albert) Carrillo Manzanares, Rick (Mona) Lucero, Frank Lucero, Glen Lucero, Christine (Tina) Lucero, and Lisa (Mike) Montoya, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
In addition to her parents and grandmother Clara, Linda was preceded in death by her best friend Mary Quinones and her brothers Phillip Jr., Robert, Randy, and Paul Lucero, along with many other cherished family members.
Linda will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, and friend — someone who lived fully, loved deeply, and gave generously.
