Linda Maloney Knighton, 85, of Centennial Colorado passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 8, 2023. Born in Rochester, New York she attended The Master’s School before attending Mount Holyoke College. Though a native of the Northeast, she and her husband of 53 years, Andy, sought a life together in Colorado where they raised three children, Michael Philips, Mark Andrew, and Cynthia Pond.
Linda thrived in the Colorado sunshine, becoming an enthusiastic gardener, league bowler, book club regular as well as a beloved member of numerous social groups. Her work in the front office at Cherry Creek High School brought her many close friendships and she always spoke fondly of that time.
In retirement, Linda was an avid traveler. Whether exploring Europe by river barge, Point Barrow in the Arctic Circle or Ukraine and the Black Sea, her natural curiosity was contagious. When at home in Centennial, she was a doting grandmother, compassionate mother and devoted friend.
Linda is survived by her three children, Michael (Becky) Knighton of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mark (Faith) Knighton of Pa’auilo, Hawaii, and Cynthia (Michael) Faulkner of Centennial, Colorado.
Grandchildren/Step Grandchildren: Alyssa (Domenica) Knighton, Alex (Isabelle) Knighton, Danielle (Charlie) Rooney, Courtney Hately, Brooke Hately, Jason Faulkner, Jordan Faulkner, Sydney Panfil, Tyler Panfil, Noah Hughes and Angelina Hughes.
She was predeceased by her husband John Andrew Knighton and brother John Maloney.
Family and friends are encouraged to attend a celebration of life at the Horan and McConaty Mortuary (5303 County Line Rd, Centennial, Colorado, 80122) on Saturday April 29, 2023 at 2:00pm.
