Linda L. Galvin

Linda Lee Galvin, 93, a long-time resident of the Vail Valley, died October 21, 2026. at her residence in Vi at Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She was born in Richmond, Indiana to Dorothy and Robert Baird on April 17, 1933. She attended Indiana University where she met her future husband, John Galvin. They married on June 13, 1953 and had two children, Gregory John in 1958 and Robert Michael in 1962.

John's employment took the family to multiple countries, the Midwest and both coasts. After years of tending to the home and children, Linda fell in love with the mountains, hiking 29 of the Colorado “Fourteeners” and making eight treks in the Himalayas. Upon John's retirement they moved full-time to Beaver Creek where they were active members of the community and loved hiking in the mountains. Linda didn’t stop downhill skiing until age 85. After her husband's death she moved to Vi at Highlands Ranch.

Linda is survived by her son Gregory (Portsmouth, New Hampshire), her grandson Thomas, wife Brianna and daughter Gabriella Linda (Rochester Minnesota), her granddaughter Kristen and husband Julian (Vienna, Austria), and her grandson Andrew (Bloomington, Indiana); her daughter-in-law Traci (Denver, Colorado) and her sister-in-law Karen Baird (Highlands Ranch, Colorado).

Linda was predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Robert Baird, her husband John, son Robert and brother Stephen Baird.

Linda’s family would like to thank the staff at Vi and Emmaus Catholic Hospice for their compassionate care of Linda in her final days. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Beaver Creek Chapel in the Spring of 2027.
