Leo E. Jaschke

Leo E. Jaschke, 54, of Westminster, Colorado passed away after a battle with metastatic thyroid cancer on November 20, 2024 in Lafayette, Colorado surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 28, 1970 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Marcine (Turchin) and Ernest Jaschke. He moved to Colorado in 1992 and married Kathy (Freeman) on April 29, 1995. 

Leo was one of 11 siblings, including 6 brothers and 4 sisters, raised on the family farm outside of Randall, Minnesota. He attended Little Falls Community High School and went on to graduate with his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Mankato State University in 1992. He started his career as a Financial Analyst at Celestial Seasonings, and then moved on to other finance positions at Boston Market, Einstein Bagels Corp, Ultimate Electronics, MBH Enterprises, Watermelon Watr, Harvest LLC, and finally at Saturn Five as Chief Financial Officer. While working full time, he additionally earned his Master’s in Business Administration and a Certified Management Accountant certification in 2005. He loved the challenges of the finance business in every company he worked for and loved the people he worked with. 

While away from work, Leo spent as much time as he could with family, including playing board games, listening to music and traveling back to Minnesota for the Fourth of July and Christmas celebrations. He loved hiking, biking, camping, canoeing, backpacking and snowshoeing in the outdoors. He especially loved visiting new places, including many National Parks. 

He will be remembered by many for his warm and caring personality at work and home, as well as his happy, giving spirit, great sense of humor, and love of life and nature. Leo’s memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Marcine Jaschke, as well as a daughter, Maranda Jaschke. He is survived by his wife Kathy Jaschke, and children Andrew and Nathan Jaschke, as well as his siblings John (Kathy), Steve (Karen), Tom, Mary Reinke (Bob), Donald (Michelle), Ann Mueller (Steve), Jeanne Pugh (Glenn), Laura VanDenheuvel (Ryan), Jeff (Rachel), Greg (Naomi) Jaschke and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 10am at St. Mark Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder. A gathering will be held at the Jaschke family home after Leo is laid to rest.
