Lee R. Rice

October 20, 1943 — August 20, 2014

Lee Rice quietly led an adventurous life. He served in the United States Air Force as a bomber pilot during the Vietnam War. He was also a nuclear missile commander for the Strategic Air Command. As a mining engineer, he traveled to many countries exploring minerals and precious metals. Lee helped develop numerous international businesses. He was a loving companion, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by many. Lee is survived by his son, Lee K. Rice and his wife Courtney; Lee's companion, Marina LaFore; stepchildren Renee LaFore and Hugo Pech, David and Yana LaFore, Dan LaFore; grandchildren Kate Lehnhard, Finnegan Rice, Tully Rice, Jacob LaFore, Charles LaFore, Isabella LaFore; sister, Mary Rice. A Memorial Service in Lee's honor will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 at eleven o'clock in the morning at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado. A reception will follow the service. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 2:15 PM, Area 'C'.
