Lawrence Lee Nelson, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado passed away on May 21, 2021.
He was born on March 9, 1931 in Chanute, Kansas to Leif and Fern (Ditmars) Nelson. He received his bachelor's degree from Kansas State University and was employed with U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, City of Denver, City Engineer's Office. Organizations included North Denver Men's Golf Club, American Society of Civil Engineers and Swedish Genealogical Society of Colorado. His favorite hobbies were golf, bowling, sailing, traveling and jazz. His achievements included being a member of the Wind Energy Project, and of the Federal Advisory Group to Suriname.
He is survived by his wife, LeAnn; sons, Glen Nelson and Todd (Lynda) Nelson; grandchildren, Kira McShane, Mollie Nelson (deceased), Josiah Nelson and Lily Nelson; and sisters, Nancy Fletcher, and Carole Goodburn (deceased).
Lawrence will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 11:30am (staging area "B").
