Lawrence "Larry" Waida

December 7, 1987 — October 30, 2023

Lakewood

Waida, Lawrence (Larry) Michael

12/7/1987 — 10/30/2023

Larry passed away peacefully with his life partner, Alisha Trejo, and their constant companion Pickle (their Great Dane), by his side. Larry and Alisha were to celebrate 21 years together in two months.

Larry, in a word, was loving. He was loyal and demanded the same from family and friends. He had a huge laugh and a larger heart. Larry danced to the beat of his own drum. He was the consummate storyteller who never forgot an event, or person, or date. He had a love and an aptitude for geography, history, and the English language. He enjoyed playing the devil's advocate in conversations. He was a very private person who did not participate in social media.

Larry had a deep love for dogs and sports (fantasy football!) and was always loyal to his Denver Broncos. He loved golfing, fishing, and snowboarding. He traveled throughout Colorado and Wyoming and Canada with his dad and brother and friends to fish for trout and salmon.

Larry had a love for the art of cooking from the early age of 8 when he began baking bread. He researched all that there was to know about food and spices and how to prepare delicious meals. He was our favorite chef.

Larry had a world of family and friends. We all love him and miss him terribly.

Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grandma & Grandpa Tezak and Grandma & Grandpa Waida and Grandma Jennings.

He leaves behind his life partner Alisha Trejo and Pickle, his mother LuAnn Waida, his father John Waida, his stepmother Donna Waida, his brothers John Waida (Tiffany) and Brandon Fainstad (Tyra) and Kevin Waida, and Alisha's father John Trejo and her mother Kathy Melvin, her sister Tara Trejo (Edgar Chavez) and brothers Joe Melvin Trejo (Amanda Paine) and Vyncynt Cabral (Krista) and his many uncles and aunts and cousins and nieces and nephews from Colorado to New Jersey and Florida.
