Lawrence ‘Larry’ John Aupperlee, 64, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at his home. A celebration of life service will take place at Revive Church, 8270 W. 80th Avenue in Arvada on Friday June 6, 2025, at 10 a.m.
Larry was born in Richwood, New Jersey on November 28, 1960, the son of Aaron and Rachel Aupperlee. He grew up in and around Richwood, New Jersey until his family moved to Florida in 1972. When Larry turned 18, he enlisted in the military and was a proud member of the United States Army. Once enlisted, he got orders to be stationed in Gelnhausen, Germany in 1980. Being stationed in Germany gave Larry his greatest gift, the love of his life, Marina. Larry and Marina (Schmidt) were united in marriage on February 25, 1984. The couple relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado and continued to relocate due to military orders. Larry was honorably discharged in 1991 and raised their family in Westminster, Colorado where they still resided at the time of his passing.
Whenever the Broncos take the field or a Pink Floyd song plays, we’ll pause and think of Larry. Larry’s unwavering faith was a cornerstone of his life, and we take comfort in knowing he was welcomed into Heaven with open arms. We find comfort in knowing that his legacy is living on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marina, and his children, Barbara Lord of Seattle, Washington, Daniel (Kaylee) Aupperlee of Arvada Colorado, Ryan Aupperlee of Houston Texas, Jeremy (Bailey) Aupperlee of Grand Island, Nebraska and Joshua (Megan) Aupperlee of Thornton, Colorado. He is also survived by his grandchildren that were so incredibly special to him, Jeremiah and Tobi Lord, Austin, Jacob, Dani Grace Aupperlee, Addyson, Selah, Lincoln, Jonah Aupperlee, Myka Aupperlee, and Caleb Aupperlee and great-grandson Thomas Aupperlee, who was welcomed into the world a day after Larry was welcomed into heaven. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Brenda Aupperlee of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, sister, Beth Wiswell of Stockbridge, Georgia and brother Paul (Patty) Aupperlee of Groveland, Florida as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
