LaVonne Marie Buxton Finney, 95, of Denver, Colorado passed peacefully on May 14th, 2025. LaVonne was born November 11, 1929 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Lawrence and Rose (Ellenbecker) Buxton. Her family moved to Los Angeles, California in 1940. LaVonne graduated from John H. Francis Polytechnic High School Los Angeles in 1947. She married the love of her life, Edward Lloyd Finney, on April 29, 1951. In 1954, LaVonne and Ed moved to Denver, Colorado. She worked for over 30 years as a bookkeeper in a variety of companies including Decca Records and Regis College. Family was among LaVonne's biggest passions, especially her grandchildren.
LaVonne is survived by her daughter, Lori Conary and her husband Bob of Centennial; son Kevin Finney and wife Leslie Brown of Denver; two grandchildren, Robert Conary Jr. of Centennial, and Amy Conary Taylor and her husband Jessie of South Jordan, Utah; great-grandson Rexlee Conary Taylor, born May 1st, also of South Jordan, Utah; sister Doreen Manning of Covington, Georgia; sister-in-law Susan Buxton of San Marcos, California; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, and her brother, Marvin Buxton. A private graveside service will be held this fall at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or Humane Colorado.
