Larry Williams

Larry Williams, 69, cast his final line into the sunset on Sunday, August 6, 2023, with his wife and daughter by his side.

Larry was born on June 22, 1954, the son of Lawrence H. Williams and Mary Theresa (Guzzo) Williams and brother of Kay (Williams) Girodo. He grew up in Trindad, Colorado, where he learned to hunt and fish -- passions he would carry and share with others throughout his life. On January 9, 1982, Larry married the love of his life, Cindy (Anderson) Williams, in Burlington, Wyoming. He and Cindy welcomed their daughter, Courtney Monique, January 7, 1985. Larry’s role as husband and father was his most important, and he adored his daughter more than anything else in the world.

Larry was a master electrician, and over time, he made several acquaintances who would become lifelong friends. Larry was sure to share his knowledge, acting as a mentor for junior colleagues in the field.

Larry, known for his many nick names (Uncle Dee, Sonny, Big Lar) and few words, was a big man with a soft heart. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, giving nature, and practical jokes. Larry’s reputation for experimental baking preceded him, especially among his nieces and nephews who were often his test tasters for new recipes. He was a provider, taking great care of his loved ones for whom he only wanted the best.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Marvin Anderson; and his mother-in-law, Laura Anderson.

Larry is survived by his wife, Cindy; daughter Courtney Monique Nicholas; sister Kay; nieces Tressa (Girodo) Hanger and Tara (Girodo) Gallardo; several brothers- and sisters-in-laws; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 15, at 1 p.m. at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO 80014.

Memorials may be made in Larry’s name to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
