La Zora W. Daughenbaugh, 88, passed away December 23, 2014. La Zora was born in Larned, KS on June 4, 1926 at home. She attended a country one room school through seventh grade in Western KS and graduated from Burdett High School as salutatorian of her class. She married her high school sweetheart, D.D. on April 22, 1944. La Zora was a homemaker and helped with the farming and ranching chores. Her hobbies were crafting, sewing, cooking and crocheting. She also learned to play bridge at the age of 80. She volunteered in the Cherry Creek Public Schools assisting the classroom teacher. La Zora is survived by her children Sharon Ditus, Sandra Kister, Nancy (Joe) Glassman, Amy and Bruce (Debbie) Daughenbaugh; grandchildren Tammy (Jerry) McWhorter, Kurt Ditus, Karl (Pam) Ditus, Michael and Brian O'Riley, Wade and Travis (Anna) Daughenbaugh, and Shanna (John) McSweeney; great grandchildren Heather and Shawn (Amy) McWhorter, Garrett, Graham Kaylyn and Mackenzie Ditus, Clayton and Hailey Daughenbaugh; great great grandchildren Addison, Troy and Sadie McWhorter; sister Thedora Tull; extended family Mark (Erin) Glassman, Tracy (Mike) Braiman, Ben, Alexander, and Evelyn Braiman; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband D. D. Daughenbaugh; parents Ted and Faye Cossman; brother Keith Cossman; and sister Ernestine Crockett. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel in Centennial, CO.
