Kori Kristen (Smith) Norberg passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Littleton Adventist Hospital, in Littleton Colorado with her sister and family at her side.
Born on February 29, 1972 in Calgary Canada, her love for Denver and the Colorado Rockies began as a young child when her family lived in Denver for 3 years. Returning to Calgary in 1977, she enjoyed family trips to Penticton and the Canadian Rockies, excelling as a competitive ski racer with the Paskapoo Ski Club. After graduating from Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School in 1989, she followed her dadâs footsteps to study geology at the University of North Dakota where she met and fell in love with her husband Doug. After graduation her first job took her to Denver; Doug soon followed and they married on January 21, 1997 in Denver, Colorado and had a formal ceremony in Calgary Alberta, Canada on August 9, 1997. During her early married years, she juggled a young family, a career in geology and the tragic loss of her dear Mom Lynne after a long battle with cancer. Kori worked for years in the oil and gas industry. While her son Jackson and daughter Reece were school age, she became a yoga instructor, and then the owner of Yoga Pod in Littleton, Colorado.
She was a beautiful, funny, spirited women who wasnât afraid to voice her opinions! Kori deeply loved her family, long-time friends, and yoga. She is survived by her husband Doug, her children Jackson and Reece; her father Richard Smith, step-mom Liz Sullivan, her sister Tracy, niece Katelyn & grandniece Masyn, nephew Alex, all from Calgary, Canada as well as many Norberg family members, William and Karen Norberg, Father and Mother in law (Port Charlotte, FL), Bill Norberg, brother in law (Port Charlotte, FL), Frank and Cinda Norberg, brother and sister in law (Bloomington, MN); Jon and Rinda Norberg, brother and sister and law (Fargo, ND) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Kori is now at peace and with her Mom. She will be deeply missed by all. We will always cherish the good memories, the times that we spent together, and the positive impact she had on our lives.
A memorial service will be held on March 20, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home at 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial CO 80122.
