In Loving Memory of Kim Chau Thi Nguyen
June 10, 1963 – May 8, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kim Chau Thi Nguyen, age 61, beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Kim peacefully departed this life on May 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and boundless love.
Born in Vietnam to Be Van Nguyen and Kim Chi Thi Nguyen, Kim grew up surrounded by the warmth of family and the rich traditions of her homeland. In 1980, while working as a street vendor, she crossed paths with the love of her life, Chung Khuu, who would serenade her with his handwritten love songs as she went about her day. Their romance bloomed against the backdrop of Vietnam’s bustling streets.
In 1987, Chung immigrated to the United States, and for three years their love was sustained by letters and hope. In 1990, Kim courageously followed her heart—and the promise of a new life—across the ocean. That same year, she and Chung were joyfully reunited and married, beginning a lifelong partnership built on devotion and mutual respect.
Kim’s compassion and generosity were known to all who met her. She opened her heart and home to family, friends, and even the stray animals she so loved. A gifted cook, Kim delighted in preparing meals that brought everyone around her table closer together. Her love of nature found her tending to her garden, taking long walks among trees and flowers, and nurturing the wildlife she encountered along the way.
Diligent and hard-working, Kim dedicated her life to providing for her family. Her children, Vivian Khuu and Vincent Khuu, were the apples of her eye, and she beamed with pride at their accomplishments. Ever quick with a smile or a word of encouragement, Kim embodied the very essence of “good hearted.” And, of course, there was Yoshi, her beloved dog whom she teasingly referred to as her favorite child—proof that Kim’s humor was as warm as her spirit.
Kim is survived by her devoted husband, Chung Khuu; her loving daughter, Vivian Khuu; her cherished son, Vincent Khuu; and her faithful companion, Yoshi. She also leaves behind her dear nieces and nephews, countless friends, and all who were touched by her kindness.
A celebration of Kim’s life will be held on May 17th, 2025 at Horan and McConaty 1091 S Colorado Blvd Denver, CO 80246, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and find comfort in one another. In lieu of gifts, the family kindly requests donations to our local animal shelters, reflecting Kim’s enduring love for animals or her Buddhist temple, Chua Tay Tien, 7777 W. Morrison Rd. Denver, CO 80227.
Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in the gift of her 61 years among us. Kim Chau Thi Nguyen’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire us. May she rest in peace.
