Keith Bryan Sprenger

After a courageous battle with ALS, Keith Sprenger journeyed to heaven on January 21, 2026. He had just celebrated his 66th birthday. At the end, he grew weary of the difficult fight, but he was confident in his faith that the Lord was good and waiting for him to come home.

Keith was born in Walla Walla, Washington, on January 9, 1960. His family moved to Lakewood, Colorado, when he was 7 years old. He graduated from Bear Creek High School in 1978 and Tabor College in 1983, with a degree in Physical Education. Keith excelled in all sports, but especially basketball, track and field, soccer, and golf.

Keith touched many lives in profound ways during his lifetime. He taught Physical Education at San Gabriel Christian School in California, then for the next 31 years, he pursued a wonderful career in golf. He played in tournaments, taught, and was an assistant pro at Tatum Ranch in Arizona, and Shaker Ridge and Mohawk Country Clubs in New York. He served as head pro at Catskill, Burden Lake, Pioneer Hills, and Battenkill golf courses. Keith also had three holes-in-one, competed in local tournaments, and qualified to compete in five national tournaments. He especially enjoyed travelling with dear friends Steve, Rick, Randy, Paul, and Henry on golf trips. He loved sharing his passion for golf.

Keith’s faith in Jesus was incredibly important to him, and he was very involved in his church. He devoted time to working with youth groups, served as a deacon, sang solos, and loved singing in choir and a quartet. His beautiful servant heart and voice will be missed.

Keith met his wife, Kim Edith Mullin, while both were working with a church youth group in Lakewood, Colorado. They were married on May 27, 1988, and enjoyed over 37 years of marriage. Together, they loved Ireland, spending time with dear family and friends, and the Denver Broncos. He patiently tried to teach her golf, but she wasn’t very good.

Keith is survived by his wife, Kim, mom Eileen Nibbe Sprenger, brothers Mike Sprenger (Carol Beth) and Andy Sprenger (Laurel), sister Kathleen Heggland (Dave), and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. His father, Lester Sprenger, passed away in January of 2025.

There will be two “Celebrations of Life.” The first will be held at Southwest Community Church in Lakewood, CO, on Saturday, January 31, at 2pm. The second will be at the First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa on Saturday, February 21, at 1pm. Burial will be in the Ballston Spa Village Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to ALS United Rocky Mountain, 10855 Dover St. Westminster, CO 80021 or to the First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa, 202 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
