Kay M. Hughes

Kay Margaret Hughes, of Evergreen, CO, passed peacefully on December 11, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her loving wife Margaret (Tenny) Turner; mother-in-law, Nancy Turner; brothers, Russell (Julie) Hughes and Patrick (Leslie) Hughes; many loving nephews, nieces and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Dorothy Hughes and her brother, Kevin (Helene) Hughes.

Kay was born in Milwaukee, WI on August 10, 1947, to Edward and Dorothy Hughes. She attended St. Monica’s Grade School, Dominican High School, and graduated from UW Oshkosh. Kay enjoyed a successful career working for SLD Denver, Colorado and at Pacific Life in Newport Beach, California and retired to Evergreen in 2003.

Kay always enjoyed helping people that she worked with learn and advance within the company. She loved outdoor activities, skiing, softball, camping and relaxing at the beach. Kay enjoyed cooking and being with family, friends, and her many canine and feline companions. Kay will always be remembered for her gentleness, her strength, her sweet loving nature and her beautiful smile. She will be missed by all who knew her.
