Kathy Y. Felder, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and soon to be great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sept 9, 2025, at St. Anthony North Hospital. She was born on December 16, 1952, in Beckley, West Virginia to the late James R. and Shirley C. (Hedrick) Pate.
Kathy grew up throughout the United States, moving when her retired Air Force father was reassigned. Her and Jim met in junior high school in San Antonio, Texas, and then graduated the same class from John Jay High School in 1971. After graduation, we stayed in touch. I joined the Air Force and was assigned to a base in Maryland. Her father was also assigned to the Maryland area. We started see each other again and were married on September 25, 1976, in Bethesda Maryland at the National Navel Medical Center.
Family and friends were very much a part of her life; always staying in contact with all her kin folks in West Virginia and other parts of the States and always keeping a close eye on what is going on in her neighborhood. She enjoyed her vacations to see her family in West Virginia and her weekly trips across the street to do crafts with her crafting friends.
Kathy is survived by a host of family and friends that includes her husband, Jim Felder; loving sons Devron J. and Sean P. Felder of Bethesda Maryland. Precious granddaughter Cadence Felder; siblings, Judy (Pate) Teaford and Mike Pate of West Virginia; as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held from 12pm until 5pm, Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 7577 W. 80th Avenue in Arvada. A graveside service will take place at 12:30PM, Thursday, September 25 at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
