Kathy Gallo, an angel among us, was known for her kind, loving, and humorous personality. Born on January 5, 1957, in Chitose, Japan, Kathy lived a life filled with tremendous love and prayers for her family and friends, as well as service towards others less fortunate than herself, especially the homeless. She left us on September 23, 2024 to her place in heaven where she was welcomed home by her mom, Jane.
Kathy is survived by her father, Frank Gallo, stepmother Vanita Gallo, sisters, Lyn Heathershaw, Trish Shapiro, and Jean Clark, daughter Celia Kendall, grandson Gabriel Kendall, many nieces and nephews, Chris, Alex, Ashleigh, Conor, and Savannah.
Kathy was a courageous, beautiful woman with a gift for poetry. She was a published author, writing about the beauty of others, the love of her savior, and in the inspiration of nature. Although hindered with physical limitations, Kathy spent years serving the homeless in a Christian coffee house, downtown churches, and at Mountair Christian Church. She constantly talked about the excitement of making compassion bags for the homeless with her best friend Linda, and how it made her feel blessed.
Kathy always took the time to make sure she looked her best, dressed to the nines and ready for the next social event. Getting together with her family and friends was the highlight of her days. She had a quick wit and came up with the funniest puns. She loved playing cards, bingo, and doing puzzles with her friends at Sierra Rehab Facility.
Kathy was a bright shining star, who will truly be missed!

Dear Lord Father God and Jesus our mighty Savior, thank you for this day to come together and express our love and our gratefulness for our beloved sister Kathy. We thank you for her sweet smile, her beautiful spirit, and the unconditional love she gave each one of us. As a wonderful Angel on earth who has risen to heaven, she has a place within your Kingdom. We thank you for the time we had with her on earth, and we pray that you will heal our hurting hearts.
Your Word tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." We hold onto Your promise, knowing that You are near to us in our grief. We pray that You will grant us the strength to endure this difficult time and the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We ask that you put Your loving, healing, and protective arms around us now and in the days to come.
Lord, as we reflect on the words of Jesus in John 11:25-26, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die," we find great comfort in knowing that Kathy is in Your loving arms, given a new body, free from pain and suffering, and filled with your spirit and your joy. We ask for Your peace, Your understanding, and ask You to give us strength during this time of sorrow. We ask all of these things in Jesus Name, Amen.
