Kathy Craven, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was born on August 28, 1953, in the small town of Corning, Iowa, to John and Norma O’Riley. Kathy spent her early childhood on a farm before her family relocated to Denver, Colorado, where she would grow up and build a life filled with love and purpose.
A proud graduate of Lincoln High School, Kathy married her high school sweetheart, Jim, on January 19, 1974. Together, they built a beautiful family. She worked in the patient finance division at Centra Medical, where her dedication touched the lives of many.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Norma. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim; her loving children, Stacie (Keir Ansay) and Jason (Tracy); her cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Cassie, Zach, Cayla, Kyle, Kaiden, and Jayden; and her precious great-granddaughter, Caiya, who brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her siblings Kim, Beth, and Bob, along with countless friends who were lucky enough to be part of her world.
Kathy was known for her warmth, generosity, and ability to connect with everyone she met. She had the rare gift of making people feel seen, heard, and cared for. Whether it was a lifelong friend, a coworker, or a neighbor, Kathy's kindness left a lasting impression. Her family was the center of her life, and she gave them her all, every single day.
Kathy’s presence was a gift, and her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her. She was truly the most loving and caring person—a light in the lives of so many.
In honor of Kathy’s memory, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
