Katharine "Katy" Bard Dickson

Katharine Bard Dickson, 77, passed away on September 3, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Katy was born to Nona Bard and Ralph Bard Jr. and grew up in Barrington, Illinois. She later moved to Denver, where she attended Colorado Women’s College as an Art major.  It was in Denver that she met her husband, Mark Dickson, and raised her family.

Katy was kind, generous, and fun-loving. She had a passion for gardening and loved traveling and photography, as well as painting and cooking. She also had a lifelong love of Basset Hounds. Naples, Florida, was especially close to her heart. She grew up spending time there and later spent winters there with Mark. She loved shelling along the beaches, and Naples became a special gathering place for her family and the source of many wonderful memories together.

Above all, Katy loved her family. She is survived by her husband, Mark; her children, Jennifer Lervick, Carrie Dickson, and Phoebe Spencer (Michael); and her grandchildren, Kelsie Lervick, Dana Lervick, and Grace Waggoner.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Katy will be held on September 30th, 2026 from 4–6 p.m. at the Denver Botanic Gardens
