Karen Ann (Rubrecht) Lippke, dedicated wife and mother, passed away shortly before midnight on April 3, 2017. Karen was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in 2010 and fought bravely until the end. She died peacefully at Denver Hospice in the loving company of her husband of 41 years, John Gifford Lippke. Karen was born in Vincennes, IN on September 5, 1950 to Louis J. and Clara E. (Shaner) Rubrecht. She graduated from St. Rose Academy in the Class of 1968. Before leaving Vincennes to move to Colorado in 2006, she worked in accounting at the Packaging Corporation of America for nearly 35 years. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Pryor Miller of Vincennes. Karen will be sorely missed by her three sisters: Debbie (Dan) Winkler of Vincennes, IN; Kathy (Mike) Cook of Redington Shores, FL; and Lisa (James) Jaeger of St. Petersburg, FL. Karen is survived by her two sons: John (Hillary) of Lakewood, CO and Chris (Jamie) of Aurora, IL; and two adored grandsons Conor John and George. Karen was very meticulous in her professional and personal life. After she left her position as an Inventory Specialist at Golden Bison in Denver in 2010, she and John took great pleasure in travel. Their most recent voyages outside of Colorado took them to Alaska, Mexico, and New England. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time in her lovely home in the company of her family. Visitation will be Sunday, 4/9, 4-6pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton. Funeral Mass will be Monday, 4/10, 10:30am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 11385 Grant Drive, Northglenn. Committal Service will be Wednesday, 4/12, 10am at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver.
