June Kabbes Doyle

June Kabbes Doyle, 74, passed away November 17^th, 2023, after a long illness.  June was born June Maureen Kabbes on May 18^th, 1949, in Springfield Ohio to Edward and Pauline Kabbes.  She was the 2^nd of 5 children:  Patricia (Patty), R. Michael (Mike), B. Diane (Dee Dee), and Thomas (Tom).  June lived her formative years in Springfield, graduating from Catholic Central High School in 1967.  After graduation, June worked several jobs but went to beautician school to become a hairdresser. 

When she was in her mid 20’s, June and her sister, Patty, moved to Colorado.  There, she became a waitress.  She met the love of her life, Roy (Mike) Doyle, in 1979 and married in 1981.  Mike and June had three children:  Colleen, Edward (Eddie), and Hallie. 

June loved to volunteer at her children’s school, Jewell Elementary, and found her passion in education.  She worked at Jewell as a teacher’s aide until her retirement in 2011.

June was a constant support for her children both in and outside of school.  She also loved volunteering in the Irish dancing community, often walking in St. Patrick’s Day parades, working on awards for competitions, and even dancing a jig with her daughters.  She also volunteered in her children’s high school activities, driving to basketball games, going to jazz band concerts, and watching the color guard at football games. 

The biggest joy of June’s life was the birth of her grandchildren.  Joshua (Josh) arrived in 2008, followed by Benjamin (2011), Fiona (2014), Abigail (2016), and Ronan (2016).  June loved to interact with her grandchildren, playing games, baking them cookies, or just watching them play.    

June was a constant person of love and support for her family and friends.  She always had advice, a shoulder to cry on, a story to tell, or just time to talk. The family would like to thank everyone who worked, loved music, and danced with her.  She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. 

June was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Pauline, her sister Patty, her aunts:  Florence (Bo) Eakman, Elizabeth Luallen, and Eloise Pyles, and her uncles:  Arthur Pyles, Harold and Waldo Eakman.  She is also preceded in death by family friends Loveda Woods and Brandon Barocio.

June is survived by her husband, Mike, her children:  Colleen Kopay (Matthew), Edward (Elizabeth), and Hallie Doyle.  She is also survived by her grandchildren:  Josh, Ben, and Abby Kopay, and Fiona and Ronan Doyle.  She is also survived by her siblings:  Mike, Dee Dee, and Tom Kabbes, and her nieces and nephews: Megan Toomey, Emily Bostdorf, Annie Gill, Sarah Schmidt, Hannah Bialke, Marc, Jason, David, and Steven Kabbes, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.  Finally, she is survived by family friends Marc Barocio and Gabino Jacobo.
