Julian "Ernie" Aragon

December 18, 1940 — January 14, 2023

Julian “Ernie” Aragon, 82 of Lakewood passed away on January 14, 2023.  He was born on December 18, 1940, in Jaroso, Colorado to Gregorio Aragon and Phyllis (Feliciana) Vigil Aragon. He is preceded in death by his parents Gregorio and Phyllis Aragon; daughter Loretta Aragon; grandson who proceeded Julian in death Marty Ayala; siblings Lucy (Robert) Martinez, Dan Aragon, Gilbert Aragon, and Patricio Aragon. Ernie is survived by his children, Ernest (Tracey) Aragon, Cynthia Ayala-Cooper (Mark), and Sandra Aragon; his six grandchildren, Jennifer Ayala, Gilbert Montoya, Jessica Montoya, Michael Montoya, Adam Aragon and Jose Julian Aragon; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Barbara Aragon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ernie worked 19 years at the nursing home, Harmony Pointe, where he spent his last eight years of life. A shared memory of Ernie by all his family is the love he had for the game of pool and how good he was at it. Since he was the last living child of Gregorio and Phyllis, the Aragon legacy is now left to their childrens’ children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their future generations.

Julian’s children would like to give a special, heartfelt thank you to his nephew Robert Martinez Jr., sister-in-law Barbara Aragon, and the staff at the nursing home for all they did for Ernie during his last few years of his life, and the staff at Lutheran Hospice at Collier for the care and kindness they showed him and his family members during his last week of life.

Viewing will be at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E County Line Road, Centennial CO 80122 from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023.
