Tom passed away on July 19, 2025, one month short of his 91st birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe Lindsey and Elizabeth Sanders; his siblings Jo Frances Callia, Bob Lindsey, and Patsy Tanner, as well as by his daughter Julie. He is survived by his wife Diane, son Russ (Kathy) and daughter Rhonda Renaud, grandsons Sean Renaud and Zack Lindsey, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom was born in Paducah, Kentucky, and moved with his family to Kansas City, Missouri, when he was a year old. He joined the Air Force at 18 and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant before leaving the service and starting his life in Colorado. After working for several years at the Martin Company (forerunner to Lockheed), Tom became a State Farm Insurance agent and stayed with that company for 30 years.
Tom was outgoing, friendly, and approachable, always the biggest personality in any group. He loved Colorado, enjoyed seeing the mountains from motorcycles, dirt bikes, and jeeps. He was a born mechanic and could diagnose and fix any problem with ease. In later life, aphasia robbed him of his ability to speak, a cruel and heart-breaking disease for someone who loved to talk to everyone. But his personality remained on display to the end, with those big blue eyes and wide smile making everyone his friend.
His family wants to give special thanks for the extraordinary love, kindness and support shown to Tom by everyone at the Haven Home.
Burial services will be held at Fort Logan on August 15 at 11:30, followed immediately by a celebration of Tom’s life at Columbine United Church, 6375 S. Platte Canyon Road in Littleton, where we will share stories and memories and friendship.
