Judy Smith

Judith Ann Smith, age 70, died in her home in Denver on October 19th 2025 with family at her side. She was a graduate of Marycrest Highschool. She spent several years attending DU and Metro where she met her future husband Donald Smith. She worked as a banker for many years reaching high heights within the bank before taking time to be a mother. Despite balancing multiple jobs at once (Blockbuster, Kohl's, and Education) Judy found joy in her family and her work, in particular her position at Bear Creek K-8. Her passion in education was astounding, and her ability to help any child in need was greatly cherished and admired. She worked 26 years as an instructional tutor where she was loved, respected and treasured by her colleagues and the numerous children whose lives she impacted.

Judy was involved in her husband’s coaching with BCJSA as well as her children’s passions for sports. She loved to garden and play board games with her children. She is survived by her four children Chris Smith, Brian Smith (Wife - Meaghan Smith), Jared Smith, Jordan Smith (Fiance - Dominic Fredette), as well as her siblings James Pocrnick, Mary Majetich, Joan Keyes (Husband - Tom Keyes), Danny Pocrnick (Wife - Chris Pocrnick), Therese Pocrnick (Wife - Meredith Wells). She is also survived by her two grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, nephews and many many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Tony and Lillian Pocrnick and her husband Donald Smith.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Saint Jude Catholic Church, 9405 W Florida Ave, Lakewood, CO 80232 on Friday, November 14, 2025. The Rosary will begin at 5:30 PM with the Funeral Mass beginning at 6 P.M. 

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Saint Jude’s Children's Hospital as this was Judy’s favorite organization.
