Judy Leeper
December 25, 1945 — August 20, 2024
Judy Agnes Leeper, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 20th, 2024. Her absence leaves a void in the hearts of her daughters Tamara and Robin, their spouses, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Judy is also survived by her brother, Joe. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bob; father, Woodrow; mother, Myrtle; sister, Carolyn; and brother, Olin.
Judy was born to Woodrow and Myrtle Strader in Fort Scott, Kansas, on December 25th, 1945. She was one of four children. A Baptist church member, she maintained those values throughout her life. In 1963, Judy married her sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Leeper. That same year, they welcomed their first daughter, Tamara, and later added to their family with their daughter, Robin, in 1967. Bob and Judy shared a wonderful life, taking many trips over the years and more throughout the country when they retired.
Judy was undoubtedly one of the finest angels to grace our lives. Her caring and kind nature was evident to all, whether they were friends, family, or strangers. Family was Judy’s most cherished treasure, and her role as a Grandma was the pinnacle of her life. She never missed a school function, birthday, holiday, or sporting event, always cheering on her family with unwavering support. Her greatest pride was caring for her oldest great-grandsons while their parents worked for the past 13 years.
She was an easy woman to please. She enjoyed taking friends to lunch, visiting antique and dollar stores, and watching all the cute movies in theaters. Judy had a talent for brightening people's days through small gifts or the care she put into choosing individual Christmas ornaments for her family each year.
Judy will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and her kind, sincere, and loving spirit will be carried with us in our hearts.
A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on September 6th, 2024, at 11:00 am at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel (9998 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado). The internment will follow at Olinger cemetery down the street from Horan. Lunch and refreshments will follow back at Horan after the internment.
