Judith "Judy' Carmean

Judith (Judy) Ann Carmean passed away at home on February 14, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.  She is survived by her husband Michael, daughter Jill, brothers Richard Roehrs, Daniel Roehrs, and their families.

Judy was born on November 5, 1942 in Ft Devens, MA to Kenneth Columbia and Josephine Noxon Columbia.  She was only in Ft Devens for a short time while her father attended Army Reserve training.  Her father was killed in action in WWII.  Her mother would go on to remarry to Melvin Roehrs.  Melvin raised Judy as his own, and Judy became the eldest of 3 children.

She spent most of her childhood in Ft Morgan, CO until the 9th grade when her family moved to Commerce City, CO.  She grew up surrounded by her mother’s large family which helped to foster her love of family.

She graduated from Adams City High School in 1960, and then attended business school in Denver.

In the summer of 1961, she met the love of her life, Mike Carmean while he was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base.  They were married in 1962 at a small ceremony in Idaho Springs and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2022.  Their eldest daughter, Carrie, was born in 1963, and preceded Judy in death.  Their second child, Jill, was born in 1965.

Judy loved family, friends, gardening, crossword puzzles, golf, reading thrillers, and watching British Mystery TV shows.

A Memorial Service will take place on March 9, 2023 at Horan & McConaty, 7577 W. 80th Ave., Arvada, Colorado 80003 beginning at 1:00 PM.
