Judith Dey Hoyer, age 82, of Parker, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on Saturday, July 8th, 1944, in Columbus, Georgia, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Judith grew up in Columbus, Georgia and graduated from Jordan Vocational High School in May 1963. She married her husband, Gustave Renee Hoyer, Second Lieutenant in U.S. Air, Force in August 1965 and embraced life as a proud military wife for 21 years, living on bases across the United States, including Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Washington, Florida, Hawaii, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. She became a mother in October 1969 with the birth of her son, Jeffrey Grant Hoyer, and again in April 1973 with the birth of her daughter, Shelley Renee Hoyer. She later attended Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, FL, International Bible College in San Antonio, TX and Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, CO earning her Associate’s Degree in Business.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. She found deep fulfillment in attending church, and participating in Bible study, where she built friendships and strengthened her walk with Jesus. She loved gospel music and attending concerts that lifter her spirit.
Judith found joy in the simple, beautiful things - tending her garden, decorating her home, cooking meals that brought the whole family together, and listening to Elvis’s music, which always made her smile. She enjoyed watching football and old westerns, playing board games, and shopping. In her youth, she loved playing softball, volleyball, and bowling and she carried a competitive spirit throughout her life that kept her sharp, lively, and determined.
She is survived by her husband, Gustave Renee Hoyer; her son Jeffrey Grant Hoyer; her daughter Shelley Hoyer Lane; her granddaughter Kayla Renee Channell, and her husband, William Tyler Channell; her grandsons, Noah Warner Lane and Micah Ryan Lane; and her great-granddaughter, Renee Lynn Channell, who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian Forest Dey and Betty Marie Norton, and her siblings, Lois Elias, Buddy Dey, Sara DeGroff, and Ruth Hall.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Rd., Centennial, CO 80122. Following the memorial service, a burial will take place at 1 p.m. at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Rd., Colorado Springs, CO, 80925, where Judith will be laid to rest.
