Juan S. Garcia Sr., passed away peacefully on September 17, 2014 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Juan was born in Dilley, Texas on February 8, 1926, the oldest son of ten children of Lorenzo and Juanita Garcia. Father of 3 children, Juan Jr., Jeffrey and Patty. Juan met his wife Pola in Uvalde, Texas. They would later marry in Crystal City, Texas in 1955. Juan moved to Colorado in 1955 and he began his career at Wilmore Nursery where he worked during the day and attended school at night to obtain a business degree. He also worked side jobs on weekends to start saving enough money to start his own business. In 1970 he achieved his goal and bought a farmhouse with 5 acres in Arvada and started Garcia Nursery and Landscaping which he built into a very successful business. Over the years he landscaped notable places such as The Tivoli and Republic Plaza. Not one to let the dirt collect under his feet during the winter he also sold Christmas Trees with some customers returning year after year establishing their Holiday tradition. Juan ran his business until the age of 80 when he decided to retire. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years (1955), Pola Garcia, son, Juan S. Garcia Jr. (LuAnn), son, Jeffrey Garcia, daughter, Patty Olson (Gary), Granddaughter, Heather Martinez (Adrian), Granddaughter, Malinda Clapp (Justin), Granddaughter, Meghan Garcia (Chris), Granddaughter, Jenny Garcia, Grandson, Jeffrey Michael Garcia, Grandson, Christopher Garcia, Granddaughter, Trianna Perry, Great Granddaughter, Jaslene Garcia, Great Grandson, Jude Martinez, 4 Brothers, 4 sisters, numerous nieces and nephews. Juan was was predeceased by his brother, Frank Garcia. Services will be celebrated at Horan & McConaty at 80th and Wadsworth on Friday, September 26th at 3:30 p.m. Memorials may be made in Juan's name to Exempla Lutheran Collier Hospice Center, 3210 Lutheran Parkway, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033.
