JP Mike Pacheco

September 24, 1950 — August 21, 2024

JP Mike Pacheco, age 73, a beloved figure of Denver Colorado, peacefully left this world on August 21, 2024, after a life richly lived in love and service.

A graduate from Westminster High School in Colorado, Mike was a shining example of kindness and positivity. He touched lives through his LDS church missionary service in South America, served on the City Council and as Mayor of Grand Junction, Colorado (1983-1984), and enjoyed 40+ years in finance, including roles as Vice President of Valley Federal Savings Bank, Managing Agent for FDIC and a key contributor to building low-income housing projects across Colorado with the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA). His marriage to his beloved wife, Adriana is what he always considered his life’s greatest blessing.

Mike was quiet, generous, and loving. He did not like to be the center of attention, but preferred to observe from a distance, cherishing his beautiful, active, and loud family. He never missed an opportunity to share the stories of his life and lessons he had learned. He was a passionate sports fan, particularly of the sports his grandchildren played, where he was their biggest supporter. He had an infectious laugh and love of movies which he shared with his kids and grandkids.

As we say our goodbyes, we find comfort in knowing that Mike’s presence had a positive impact on so many lives. He leaves with us many cherished memories and his absence will be deeply felt. Dad, your work here on earth as a loving husband and father is complete and you deserve eternal rest and peace. “God be with you till we meet again”

Mike is survived by Adriana, his loving wife of 53 years, his three children- Adriana Snell (Jonathan), Michelle Penrod (Joseph), Micheal Pacheco- along with his 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Timothy, Prado and Tobias Pacheco, and Sisters Patricia Madrid and Christine Pacheco De Luna. He was preceded in death by his parents Jose P Pacheco, Mary Jo Pacheco, and his sister Valerie Jacala.

A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, October 26th, at 10:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9800 Foothills Canyon BLVD, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129. Friends, family, and those whose lives were touched by Mike are welcome to attend and share in remembering his remarkable life.

The family kindly requests in lieu of flowers or gifts, that donations be made to BYU-pathway Worldwide in memory of JP Mike Pacheco. BYU-Pathway Worldwide fund provides access to quality higher education to students around the world.
