Joyce Bust

Joyce Ellen Moffett Bust, 80, of Arvada, Colorado died of cancer, while in hospice care, at her home. She was a wonderful woman; mother of three daughters and one son, and loving grandmother of 9. While raising a family of four, she had careers in nursing and as a computer programmer. She took part in many short term mission trips to Mexico with her family, and after the passing of her husband, she spent 3 years as a full time missionary to Colombia in the early 2000s.

She had countless friends in the Arvada and Westminster area, as well as abroad, owing to her work in the mission field.

She was a two-time cancer warrior, beating melanoma in 2017-18, and more recently battled Gallbladder cancer for the last 18 months.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William W Bust; her sister, Sheryl Cornish; her mother, Ellen Moffett and her father, Howard C. Moffett. She is survived by her four children and their spouses; Kristina  and Bud Downing, Michelle and Lane Palmer, Tamara and Todd Dankers, and W. Jaimison and Kate Bust. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Sonya Downing, Chandler (and Hannah) Downing, Erin Palmer, Meagan Palmer, Nathan Dankers, Riley Dankers, Mackenzie Dankers, Elaina Bust, and Jaimison Bust; and by her nephew, Mark (and Lisa) Cornish.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 5pm - 7pm at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home located at 7577 W. 80th Ave, Arvada, CO 80003.  A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10:30am at Crossroads Community Center located at 10451 Huron St. in Northglenn, CO 80234. There will be a lunch reception to follow the service in the same location. The graveside service will be held at 2:00pm at Arvada Cemetery, 5581 Independence St., Arvada, CO 80002. For those joining the family at the graveside, please be in your vehicle by 1:15pm as we will be traveling in an escorted procession to the cemetery. Please have your headlights and hazard lights on.
