Joy Lynne Fischer

November 21, 1941 - September 15, 2026

With deep sadness we announce that Joy Fischer, age 84, passed away September 15th, 2026. She was a loving and devoted wife to Ron for 60 years, mother to her daughter Lynne, and grandmother to her 2 grandchildren, Jaylen and Trey. Joy was born in Illinois on November 21, 1941, to James and Orletta Lattig. She went to Barnes Hospital School of Nursing to become a nurse. Joy married the love of her life, Ron Fischer, August 16, 1964. She was a nurse at Lutheran Hospital and Woodridge Orthopedic Center. Her passions were doing needlepoint, caring for her cats, hanging out with her sisters, reading, making puzzles, and spending time with her family. Joy (known as Grammy) was a huge part of her grandchildren’s lives. She would take and pick them up from school (she always had the best snacks), play games with them, and was always at their school and sports events. There will be a public viewing for Joy on Saturday, September 26, 2026,6 at Horan and McConaty at 80th and Wadsworth from 4-8. Feel free to wear casual attire.
