Joshua James Searles was born to Suella Crowley & William Searles on June 11, 1973 in Denver, CO. On April 19, 2017, after years of battling substance abuse and depression, Joshua tragically took his own life. He was 43 years old. Joshua grew up in Denver and was a strong athlete from a young age. He particularly excelled at baseball and played for many years. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended Metro State University, Mesa State College and Jones Real Estate School. Joshua loved traveling, a good meal, spending time with family & friends, great music and a good laugh. He was kind, carefree, big-hearted, sensitive, hardworking, faithful, non-judgmental and generous. Most importantly, until the day he died, he tried his best to beat his addictions. Joshua is survived by his mother, Suella Crowley, his sister, Kendra Miller (Ed Halpern), his brother, Travis Searles, his nephews, Kyel & Chase, his niece Maddie and his cousin Molly. He is preceded in death by his father, William Searles, his uncle, James McCorkle, his grandmothers, Maurine McCorkle and Evalyn Searles and his grandfathers. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 3:00pm at the Horan & McConaty Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80246. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
